Mel visits booming local medical devices company

Mel Stride visits Careflex

Mel Stride paid a visit to booming local company CareFlex on Heathfield industrial estate near Bovey Tracey.

The company design, manufacture and provide specialist medical seating that is used by the NHS, local authorities and care homes.

Mel Stride, MP for Central Devon and Secretary of State for Department of Work and Pensions said: “CareFlex employs 65 people from the area and play an important role in our local economy.

“It has been great to see how this local success story has continued to go from strength to strengthand support people right across the country.”

Craig Downton, Sales and Marketing Director, said: “It was an honour to welcome Mel Stride to CareFlex, showcasing our specialised chairs' pivotal role in enhancing the lives of those who rely on them.

“Our discussion with Mel highlighted the product, people, and stories behind each chair. We were equally thrilled to demonstrate our commitment to local manufacturing by giving Mel a tour of our state-of-the-art production facilities and offices in Devon. 

“This visit reinforces our dedication to quality and community, core values at the heart of everything we do at CareFlex."
