Useful Links - Apprentices

Useful information for anyone thinking about embarking on an apprenticeship can be found at www.gov.uk/become-apprentice.

The National Apprenticeship Service helpline number is 08000 150 600.

We have two excellent apprenticeship training organisations here in Central Devon:

The Focus Training Group based in Heathfield:
01626 832374, Cavalier Rd, Unit 4 Amey House, Heathfield Industrial Estate, TQ12 6TQ

Moor Training based in Okehampton:

Useful Links - Employers

Useful information for employers thinking about taking on an apprentice can be found at www.gov.uk/employing-an-apprentice. This includes help on:

  1. Choosing an apprenticeship for your business or organisation.

  2. Finding an organisation that offers training for the apprenticeship you’ve chosen.

  3. Checking what funding is available for training and other costs to your organisation.

  4. Advertising your apprenticeship - find out how to create an advert using your apprenticeship service account or give your training provider permission to do this for you.

  5. Selecting your apprentice and making an apprenticeship agreement and commitment statement with them.

If you do not want to hire and train the apprentice yourself, you can use an apprenticeship training agency. The apprentice will be employed by the agency but will work in your organisation.

The National Apprenticeship Service helpline number is 08000 150 600.
