Sir Mel Stride, MP for Central Devon, visited New Leaf in Exminster to learn more about the service’s work supporting adults with mental health conditions to move towards employment. New Leaf, part of Devon Partnership NHS Trust, offers structured placements combining practical activity with employability support to help people rebuild confidence, skills and routine.
During the visit, Mel toured the nursery and vocational facilities and met staff to discuss how meaningful work can support recovery and improve mental wellbeing.
Sir Mel said: “It was extremely valuable to visit New Leaf and see first-hand how practical, supportive environments can help people regain confidence and move towards employment. This kind of work makes a real difference to individuals and communities.”
